Ernst Holler

Prof Ernst Holler was trained as a hematologist and worked as an attending in the Munich allogeneic transplant program under the supervision of Prof Hans Jochem Kolb from 1980 until 1998. He was head of the clinical and experimental allogeneic transplant program at the University of Regensburg from 1998 until his retirement in 2019. Until now, he has been working as a Senior Professor in translational research on allogeneic SCT with a specific focus on GvHD biomarkers within the MAGIC consortium, and the role of microbiota in immunoregulation with a focus on GvHD and transplant-related complications. During his career he received several grants, mainly on GvHD-related research projects, and awards such as the van Bekkum award in 2004, the Honorary member award of the EBMT in 2021, and the special GvHD Achievement award by the IACH.
