Cynthia Chmielewski
Cynthia Chmielewski is a retired educator with 28 years of experience teaching multiple grade levels and subjects in elementary and special education. Throughout her career, she also served in leadership roles, including Science Curriculum Coordinator, Math Facilitator, Student Council Advisor, Team Leader, and Coach. She mentored new teachers and supervised numerous student teachers.
In 2003, she was named Teacher of the Year and received a special recognition award from the DARE program.
Today, she uses her teaching background to educate patients about becoming active participants in their healthcare and advocating for their rights. She mentors fellow survivors through patient support communities, social media, and as a patient ambassador, and serves on several advisory boards for pharmaceutical companies and myeloma organizations.
