Course Description
Older patients with a hematologic malignancy who are candidate for a hematopoietic cell transplant, are a growing demographic. Estimating risk of mortality and morbidity based on age alone, is not always reliable. This course will discuss some dedicated assessment tools which can aid in identifying frailty, resulting in improved prognostication to decrease complications and non-relapse mortality in the context of each patient’s unique needs.
